The Vaultex TAF Arc Flash Suit is a piece of personal protective equipment designed to protect workers from the thermal hazards of an electric arc. 

Key Details

  • Protection Level: It provides an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of 40 cal/cm², which means it can protect against heat energy incidents up to 40 calories per square centimeter without causing second-degree burns.
  • Standard: The suit is certified to meet the IEC 61482 standard for protective clothing against the thermal hazards of an electric arc.
  • Material: It is made from arc-resistant, flame-retardant (FR) fabric, with FR thread used throughout its construction.
  • Design Features:
    • The coat has an open-end zip closure with a hook and loop covered flap.
    • It features a one-piece topstitched, lay-flat collar.
    • Sleeve cuffs are adjustable with hook and loop closures.
    • The bib overall has a side elasticized waist and adjustable suspenders.
  • Suit Components: The complete set typically includes a coat, bib overall, a helmet with a hood, bracket and face shield, fabric gloves, and a storage bag.
  • Applications: It is primarily used in high voltage situations, such as for transmission line maintenance, LT and HT panel maintenance, and substation work. 

This suit helps in significantly reducing the risk of serious injury and burns associated with electrical explosions.
